Family is Everything!

More stuff ...

1) Attended Stake Conference in the USU Spectrum with President Eyring and Elder Ballard in attendance.

  FABULOUS!!

2)  Chelsea and Andrew (my nephew, her cousin) spent quality cousin time coloring. A FABULOUS activity for two adults?!

3)  Voice recital at our house.  Set up 60+ chairs in the living/dining room.  Nicole and Melanie participated.  FABULOUS!!

4)  The "girls" talked little Porter into delivering the "Will you go to the dance with Melanie" message. Super cute!

 

The boy said, "Yes!"  Which is very FABULOUS!!

5)  Brigham, Talon, Dustin, & Andrew (nephew) made sopapillas.  So delicioso! And ... FABULOUS!!

Pretty much just one of those all around FABULOUS days :)

Ummm - just some stuff

1) Tuesday night = band concert

 

Dustin played in tune most of the time :)  as did the rest of the band, which was a welcome surprise.

2) Thursday night = orchestra concert

 

Melanie played in tune, and the rest of the orchestra mostly did. Watching all of the orchestras combined in a fiddling explosion was pretty cool.

3) I saw a woman in short shorts and a t-shirt in 30 degree weather riding a bicycle who stopped to smoke a cigarette. Did she stop to smoke because she was out of breath? Which makes no sense at all. Or, did she stop to smoke because she was cold? In which case the heat from one cigarette was too minute to do any good and so doesn't make any sense either. Just wondering.

4) Was the x-box and other video gaming systems invented by Lucifer and his minion of angels? I know a few moms that think so.

5) Isn't it WAY too early for winter type weather? I guess if I lived in Hawaii it would be, but I live in Northern Utah. By the way, why do I live in Northern Utah when I hate (yes, that is a strong and ugly word) winter and cold weather?

6) Do I lose my eternal salvation if I still haven't canned any of those beets?

Weekend Adventure

I thought it would be fun to spend Conference weekend away from the distractions of home, and so we gathered our family and a ton of food and headed to Park City for the weekend.  Besides, Park City is a lot closer to Salt Lake and so Greg's commute for Conference was a lot, lot closer:) 

Between Conference sessions we played on the streets of Park City, played ping pong and giant chess at the condo, ate delicious pizza on a corona beer table, drank hot chocolate, rode the Alpine slide and Alpine coaster (just steps away from our Marriott condo), and pretty much just had a great time being together!

  

Chelsea, Brigham, Melanie, and Dustin (and Greg, of course) were able to attend the Saturday morning session of General Conference. What a blessing to live in this day and age when we are able to so readily hear the inspiring counsel of the Lord's latter-day living prophet and servants. As I watched General Conference I felt connected to our missionary, knowing (hoping) that he was also watching and being spiritually fed as I was. I am grateful to have spent my time this weekend with the people I love most as well as having the opportunity to have my testimony of the gospel strengthened.

Truly, my cup runneth over!
