Addie got her super cute pink hearing aids today! We are so excited to watch her begin to interact more now that she can hear better. Hooray for modern technology! She will be 3 months old tomorrow!

Mental Meanderings
I spend a lot of my time holding this:

I have really, REALLY been missing this:
but I get to see him July 8th! Pretty much the cutest super baby I've ever seen! We'll be getting Addie a pink cape to match her cousin Andy:)
Someone asked me today how I liked being a grandma. Well, it's pretty much the most awesome thing ever! EVER!!
I'll be going on the Mormon Tabernacle Choir tour with Greg in a couple of weeks. He only wanted me along so he wouldn't have to room with someone using a c-pap machine. We have to turn in our packed suitcase on the 12th and won't see it again until the 21st. I hope I have enough underwear to last me!
Melanie will be moving out for college. Just a mile down the street. But I still don't want her to go. Neither does Dustin.
Nicole and Talon and sweet baby Adalyn will be moving to Missouri the first part ofJuly. I am NOT looking forward to their departure.
Chelsea and Brigham and Andy still live in Alaska. WAY too far away!
Chase is in love. I believe he is buying a ring today. I'm freaking out just a bit. O.K. - a lot!
Dustin still does not have a summer job. Will somebody please come and hire this boy?!
Our family reunion is on July 2nd. I'm in denial regarding the planning of it.
Because Chase is in love, I have to add the making of another quilt to my projects list. No matter how much I complete, it never seems to diminish. Much like the Widow's cruse of oil and barrel of meal after serving the prophet Elijah.
It was warm and 82 degrees earlier today! Now it is rainy and cold. Our weather is schizophrenic!

Melanie graduated!
Not that we ever doubted that she would. Well, maybe .... :)
Logan High School has a traditional "night before graduation" ceremony called "Candlelight". The students wear their caps and gowns, march into the school auditorium, honor special teachers, and listen to an inspiring speaker.
As Senior Class President, Melanie conducted the event. And she sang a super cool jazz arrangement of their school song. You'll have to check out my facebook page for that recording.
Then the students each receive a candle and walk together to four significant spots on their campus (the rec center, the football field, the spirit bridge, and the front entrance) to listen to one of their peers speak. This year, a fifth spot was chosen. The class of 2011 lost a dear friend and classmate during their Freshman year due to a skiing accident. As a remembrance and to honor Jiggy (Jocelyn Garlic) the class purchased a yellow (Jocie's favorite color) bench that they had installed next to the Spirit bridge. Instead of a graduating Senior speaking at this spot, Jocie's parents came and spoke to the students, thanking them, and encouraging them to live life to it's fullest, or to "go big or go home" as Jocie was fond of saying. Needless to say, it was a moving moment for all in attendance.

The next night was the official "walk across the stage and receive your diploma" event at the USU Spectrum.
Melanie and Dustin sang in the choir - Melanie is second from the left on the third row from the top. Dustin is sixth from the left on the second row from the top. Dustin is going to miss Melanie not being at the school with him next year :(
Melanie also played in the orchestra! And received the ever coveted diploma!
